2005 Show - Oliver!

BasOp's 2005 show was Lionel Bart's well known musical "Oliver!". Featuring a host of well-known songs including "Consider Yourself", "Food Glorious Food", "Pick A Pocket or Two" and "As Long As He Needs Me".

The story follows the tale of a young boy Oliver as he moves from the workhouse to join Fagin's gang of young pick-pockets, and then ultimately being saved from that life when discovered by his grandfather Mr Brownlow.

The show ran from May 24th to 28th at the Towngate Theatre, Basildon. The curtain opened at 7:30 pm each evening and at 2:30 pm for the Saturday matinee. Concessionary ticket pricing was available for children and senior citizens at some performances.

For the first time the society made use of the internet for ticket sales making use of the services of Essex Theatre Ticketing. Over £500 of ticket sales were made using this service with payments being taken by credit / debit card.
